What is about?
The Watercolor for Beginners Workshop aims to provide the insights the basics of watercolor painting, and it is dedicated to those that have no training and no experience at all with painting. Along with watercolor painting, some basic sketching and drawing issues will be considered.Who can participate?
The first (September 2014 - June 2015) Watercolor Workshop was dedicated to ladies over 60 years old, who are retired, have lost their jobs for more than 3 years or have never been employed. The attendants must be permanent residents of Patras city, and priority will be given to the ones living in the area close to the 2nd KAPI (local community center for the elderly).The second Watercolor Workshop (October 2015 - June 2015) is open to all seniors who are registered as members of the 2nd KAPI of Patras.
When it will take place?
The workshop usually starts by the end of September of each year and ends by the end of June of the next year, aiming to held a total of 30 weekly workshop sessions, with a duration of 1 hour each. The exact week day and hours is established at the beginning of September each year, when the registration procedure is completed.Where?
Most of the sessions take place at the venue of the 2nd KAPI of Patras (N. Kazantzaki Str, No21, 26443 Patras). In the second half of the workshop duration, whenever the weather will permit, some sessions may take place outdoors, at nearby locations (i.e. the Archeology Museum, Limanaki).How much it will cost?
The workshop attendance is free of charge for the full-year duration, as the instructions are provided on a volunteer basis, while the Community Center provides us with space and necessary equipment (i.e. furniture) at its venue.Furthermore, we are grateful to all contributors that are helping us to raise funds to cover the materials (paints, paper, brushes, etc.) necessary at least for the beginning of the workshop, in order for the attendants to get a clear idea of what the workshop is about and decide if they would like to invest in any materials.
